I Forgot My Windows Password!
For some reason we get this question quite a bit, “I forgot my windows password, how do I recover my forgotten password?”
I will assume you have already exhausted all of the obvious means of password recovery. Now down to the software tech route. First off, much props to Ophcrack for doing all the hard work. Read on and watch video for details.
Step-by-step instructions:
- Download the Ophcrack LiveCD
- Burn an ISO image file disk. (How to burn an ISO image file to a CD or DVD)
- Make sure your boot order has the CD or DVD drive before the hard drive (this is usually the standard setup)
- Reboot your pc with the CD/DVD in the drive.
- Ophcrack does the rest… sit back and wait for the password to be revealed.

Stuff works, and the price is right. Cant beat free. Here is a powertip
Some people use SAME password for different applications, not just their login but their email, their MySpace account, and (say it aint so) their online bank, etc… So make sure you CHANGE UP YER PASSWORDS.

Sounds like it goes to a different resolution than your monitor supports. Chances are you are using an LCD… right? If so, try using a CRT (the big old TV looking type) monitor…. they tend to support more resolutions. Good luck

Dani - you could always put the hard drive in another computer as a SECONDARY DRIVE and get your data off of the computer. Then you can move the hard drive back to the old computer after you have secured the data. Reformat the system and reload the operating system and move the data back over. Good luck!
