For some reason we get this question quite a bit, “I forgot my windows password, how do I recover my forgotten password?”
I will assume you have already exhausted all of the obvious means of password recovery. Now down to the software tech route. First off, much props to Ophcrack for doing all the hard work. Read on and watch video for details.
Step-by-step instructions:
- Download the Ophcrack LiveCD
- Burn an ISO image file disk. (How to burn an ISO image file to a CD or DVD)
- Make sure your boot order has the CD or DVD drive before the hard drive (this is usually the standard setup)
- Reboot your pc with the CD/DVD in the drive.
- Ophcrack does the rest… sit back and wait for the password to be revealed.
