If you have ever spent time in an MRI machine, you know how loud they can be. Being jammed inside of a small tube is stressful enough. In addition conventional MRI scanners make sounds in excess of 110 dBA including loud clunking, honking, and laser tag sounds and it is enough to make a patient a bit agitated.
GE Healthcare has announced a much quieter MRI scanner, the Silent Scan. The GE Silent Scan is as quiet as the typical background noises in the exam room. Check it out in the video below. Can't wait to see this technology make it to the exam rooms.
