Slushy Magic

If you watch any kids shows on Nickelodeon you have probably seen the cheesy commercials for Slushy Magic.  If not, you can see what the Slushy Magic Cup is all about here.  The idea is quite simple… you get a cup with lid, a straw/spoon, and three magic ice cubes.  You freeze the reusable ice cubes, place them in the cup, and add your favorite beverage…. and like magic you have a slushy in a few minutes.  I couldn’t help thinking of all of the “adult” beverages you could make with this little contraption.

Video after the break.

Cube Tube

The Cube Tube might just be the coolest thing to happen to the ice cube in quite some time.  Not only does the Cube Tube look great holding ice cubes, it also makes making ice easy, requires less ice cube touching, and keeps the ice from getting crusty from air exposure.

Cube Tube is a vertical ice cube tray that prevents you from spilling water while transporting a full tray of water to your freezer. It also provides the user better control while dropping the ice into a drink. Just fill the tube, insert the divider, seal the tube and freeze. Once it’s frozen, hit the flexible bottom against a hard surface. This will loosen up the ice to be pulled out (and probably relieve some stress). The tube is designed with a slight draft to make pulling the ice out easier.

Expect to see the Cube Tube for about $8 in the near future.

Cirrus Ice Ball Press

You can buy ice balls from Glace Luxury Ice for about $5 per ice cube… or you can buy a Cirrus Ice Ball Press ($799) and make your own.  Neither option is cheap.

The Cirrus Ice Ball Press, in theory, makes a better ice cube for your high end booze.  Why is the 2.75-inch sphere shaped ice ball better?  Supposedly you get less surface area and subsequently less water in your drink.

You freeze an ice cup mold, insert this chunk of ice into the Cirrus mold, put the top on and wait about one minute.  Taa daa you have an ice ball.  Video of the Cirrus Ice Ball Press after the break.

Not a fan of ten tiny ice cubes in your drink.  Why not use a King Cube… basically a large 2-inch square ice cube.  The larger ice cubes will keep your drink colder longer, and can even be infused with flavors (or more booze) for some truly custom drinks.

The King Cube ice cube tray is made of food grade silicone and is easy to fill and extract frozen cubes from.  Each silicone tray makes six large ice cubes.

Yours for only $9.95 here.

Lego Ice Cube Tray

I grew up with Lego’s and tried to build just about everything imaginable with them.  This is before all of the new cool Lego’s hit the scene.  Most of our Lego’s were square or rectangle… nothing too fancy.  When I saw this Lego Ice Cube Tray I immediately pulled out the plastic and bought one for my brother the “Lego King”.

Glace Luxury Ice

Luxury Ice?  Who knew?  Am I the only one that things we are in for a serious depression recession?

Seems Glace Luxury Ice Co thinks that there is a market for premium ice cubes.  The Glace luxury ice is making perfectly spherical ice cubes that are hand-carved in Canada.  Trying not to laugh at this point.  The ice cubes (I can’t call them luxury ice any more, makes me laugh too much) are made from purified water and won’t taint the taste of your expensive alcohol.

A pack of five will run you $40.  Bulk orders of 240 luxury ice spheres ice cubes will cost $1,440.  More after the break.

Shark Fin Ice Tray

For some reason we keep bumping into cool ice cube trays. (Remember the AK-47 Ice Bullets, the Tetris Ice Cubes, or my favorite the IceOrb

This latest, the Shark Fin Ice Tray is pretty cool.  Perfect for a beach themed party.

Theyre engineered like an iceberg so that the fin part always stays upright in your glass, just visible above the beverage line, while the rest of the ice cube remains submerged. And for just over $8 from Play.com, how can you go wrong?

Blackberry Storm

Any chance the Blackberry Storm is going to put a dent in the iPhone’s armor?  I don’t think so.  We don’t have ours yet… but here is what the folks at Wired had to say.

Click screen is a revelation for touch compatible devices. Converts iTunes to BlackBerry media without breaking a sweat. Included GSM card means the Storm is a true globetrotter — it can work in virtually any foreign port. Photos, video, and text pop like Ice Cube’s AK (on a bad day). Posh fit and finish look rich enough to buy YOU dinner. OS lag on a piece of hardware this gorgeous is unacceptable. Scrolling through menus is jagged, slow, and pokey. Accelerometer sometimes takes a good 5-10 seconds to orient itself. Lack of Wi-Fi is lame. Verizon’s totalitarian control over the Storm’s OS is even lamer.

AK-47 Ice Bullets

Just add water to the AK-47 ice tray and voila  you have ice cubes that look like AK47 bullets.  Kinda cool, but be careful as they look pointy and swallowing them could be dangerous to you internal bits.  Yours for $13.25.
