iFlask Smartphone Flask

Trying to sneak alcohol into concerts, sporting events, and cruise ships is getting next to impossible.  Backpacks and purses are being searched and pockets are being frisked.  I personally think this is a violation of rights.  However, as long as people are willing to put up with these overreaching searches, they will continue.

So enough of the negative bits.  On to the sneaky bits.  The iFlask Smartphone flask will make sneaking 4-ounces of your favorite libation much easier.  Not enough booze for you?  Add a realistic looking digital camera flask that carries another 5-ounces of liquid.  Have fun and don’t drink and drive.

Dew Motion iStick Playtime

With the world waiting to see if the rumors of an Apple iWatch will come to be… other manufacturers are taking their own approaches to the Smartwatch.  Remember the Pebble Watch?  One reason to take a look at this new bridge to your smartphone, via your wrist, is the controls.  The Dew Motion iStick Playtime (iSport Playtime) is targeted towards sporty folks and is more of an armband than a watch.  The Playtime can be worn on your wrist or forearm or attached to your bike, backpack or other gear.  Read on for more details.

Bodelin ProScope Micro Mobile

If you have ever wanted the ability to use a lab quality microscope without the typical microscope user experience, check this out.  The Bodelin ProScope Micro Mobile costs just $149 and mounts on to your iPhone 4, 4s, 5, iPod Touch, iPad, and iPad Mini.  There is a different version depending on what you plan on strapping this digital scope to though.

The Bodelin ProScope Micro Mobile is powered by its own lithium-ion battery which takes two hours to charge (via USB) and will work for five hours.  The power is used for both the digital microscope and the adjustable LED lighting.  The ProScope Micro Mobile mounts to your iOS device via a nylon/ABS sleeve and provides magnification from 20-80x.  The unit is also made entirely in the USA (Oregon to be specific), and should start shipping May 1st.  Video of the Bodelin ProScope Micro Mobile in action after the break.

Budweiser Buddy Cup

So you are at your favorite watering hole and order up a cold Budweiser.  If you live in Brazil, the Budweiser might show up in The Buddy Cup.  The Budweiser Buddy Cup allows you to link to others, via Facebook, by simply clinking the cups together.

First you have to allow your cell phone to share your Facebook profile with the chip that is embedded in the Buddy Cup.  After that, a simple “cheers” moment links you that person.  Cool and scary at the same time.  Watch the Budweiser promo video for the Buddy Cup after the break.

So the rumor of a Facebook phone has finally come to a head.  It seems the Facebook phone isn’t really a phone it is more about apps.  In this case, the product is Facebook Home.  Facebook Home aims to take over parts of your android phone with Facebook content.  Think Facebook chat instead of text messaging… or Facebook camera instead of your typical camera.  Long story short, Facebook wants to take over your mobile phone.

You will be able to double tap to like something and can swipe from one update to the next.  Tap to comment, tap and hold to zoom, etc…  I think this makes sense for folks whose social lives exist mainly on Facebook… for the rest of the people who use their phone for other things… not so much.

Is this picture an accurate representation of the rumored iPhone 5S?  Only time will tell.  A few things to notice include the rounded edges which don’t fit Apple’s typical designs, and the famous home button being removed.  Another feature is curved class and an edge-to-edge display.

While this may be just a bored fellow who is good at Photoshop… it might as well be spot on.  Remember Apple’s patent application from last week?
