Bodelin ProScope Micro Mobile

If you have ever wanted the ability to use a lab quality microscope without the typical microscope user experience, check this out.  The Bodelin ProScope Micro Mobile costs just $149 and mounts on to your iPhone 4, 4s, 5, iPod Touch, iPad, and iPad Mini.  There is a different version depending on what you plan on strapping this digital scope to though.

The Bodelin ProScope Micro Mobile is powered by its own lithium-ion battery which takes two hours to charge (via USB) and will work for five hours.  The power is used for both the digital microscope and the adjustable LED lighting.  The ProScope Micro Mobile mounts to your iOS device via a nylon/ABS sleeve and provides magnification from 20-80x.  The unit is also made entirely in the USA (Oregon to be specific), and should start shipping May 1st.  Video of the Bodelin ProScope Micro Mobile in action after the break.

Crazyflie Nano Quadcopter

The quadcopter craze continues.  This time with a very small, very cool, open source kit.  The Crazyflie Nano Quadcopter sells in two versions (both under $180) and will continue to develop and improve as more smart kids tinker with the open source code.

One of the cool bits, especially for the gamer types, is the fact that you fly this tiny remote control quadcopter with a PS3 controller.  Simply amazing.  See the Crazyflie Nano in action after the break.

Remember the waterproofing company Liquipel from last year?  Well they just got some competition from a new company named HzO.

The HzO coating is called WaterBlock and claims that it protects better than the competition (aka Liquipel).  The WaterBlock technology is applied via a “chemical vapor deposition process” and protects against most liquids (water, beer, soda, juice, etc…).

“The coating process offered by other companies sprays a thin hydrophobic coating on both the interior and exterior of the device which can aid in driving away light splashes to the device, but leave microscopic gaps and openings that allow water, humidity and moisture to eventually seep through and damage the internal sensitive circuitry, especially when submerged.”

Currently HzO is going after the OEM (original equipment manufacturers) instead of the users.  This means that you can’t send in your current gadgets.  You can only hope they are successful selling to companies like Apple, Canon, etc…
