If you have ever needed a soldering iron while out in the field, away from wall power, you typically had to suffer with a subpar iron. For example, I used to carry the Weller P2KC which is a butane powered soldering iron. It is decent and has served me well. But I have found something better. The

PrintBrushXDR

Imagine being able to take almost any design or text and instantly print it on most surfaces. Want to label put your name on your kids underwear, label your scrapbook, add your logo to a cardboard box, etc… The PrintBrush XDR can take a design from your smartphone wirelessly and lay it down in full color on all kinds of surfaces (paper, cardboard, fabrics, wood, etc.). You simply drag the printer across your surface and it quickly lays down color prints.

Thanks to built-in sensors and intelligent software, the imprint will always be correct independently of the direction or the speed of a user’s hand movement. You can go as slow or as fast as you want. You can even stop in the middle of the printout: the PrintBrush XDR delivers accurate and reliable results.

Currently the PrintBrush XDR lives on KickStarter and isn’t fully funded. Fingers crossed they make it and the product works as good as the demo.

MarkRober_Bait_Package

There have been plenty of booby trapped bait packages set out for unsuspecting porch thieves, but this one takes the cake. Mark Rober, who is pretty crafty in the shop designed the ultimate booby trapped bait box using a bunch of tech.

This package starts off with an Apple HomePod box, a 3d printed frame, four phones for GPS and video recording, a pound of fine glitter that spins out in all directions, and (my favorite) a fart spray device. Genius. Watch this video, after the break, showing porch pirates getting destroyed. (more…)

Ever been stuck in the dark with a dead flashlight? I have. What I do recall is having every size and style of battery but the one that the flashlight needed.  Panasonic has a new flashlight that will make it almost impossible to be without the right battery. The “Panasonic Any Battery Light will run on any combination of D, C, AA, or AAA.  You can fill the Any Battery Light with batteries or run it on just one AAA.  Pretty...

The Pyro Pen looks and works like a real Sharpie market, but it has a tiny button which activates a little flame-thrower. Think of it as a good party trick. Is it safe? Pyro’s secret is that the barrels are filled with ‘flash’ paper. A specially-treated tissue paper that burns extremely quickly and is gone in the blink of an eye. Magicians have used flash paper in their acts for decades to get huge reactions from a tiny burst of fire. Every...

SmartNudge

I personally think the toilet seat should be left in the up (vertical) position. I know, I am going against the grain here but hear me out. Guys will be messy pigs guys and would you rather they ‘accidentally’ pee all over the bowl or seat? The last thing you want to do when visiting the bathroom to sit down, is have to clean off a bunch of disgusting sticky urine. If the seat was up, it would be clean and protected. OK, I am done with my rant about that – on to this cool product for the rest of the world who likes pee on seats.

The SmartN?dge, currently a Kickstarter campaign, is simple genius. This little robot runs on four AA batteries and sticks to the toilet lid via adhesive tape. After 90-seconds of the seat being in the up/vertical position it flicks the seat down. This is great for folks who already have a slow-lowering toilet seat. For those who don’t have a slow-lowering toilet seat, they will hear a loud slam shortly after finishing their business in the bathroom.
