While Apple might not be first to the show, they are often worth the wait. If you want a smart speaker that sounds good and doesn’t pimp out your data – check out the Apple HomePod. Not only is it one of best sounding of the bunch, it looks pretty nice to boot. The HomePod launched without stereo pairing and multi-room support (AirPlay 2) but has both now. Yay. When you add HomePod to more than one room, the speakers communicate with each other through AirPlay 2. Play the same music everywhere or play different songs in...

KNZ GoDuo Stereo Bluetooth Magnetic Speakers Split

Another bluetooth speaker? Sure, as long as it innovates and improves on the past generations. The KNZ GoDuo bluetooth speaker is pretty unique which says something in this crowded space. For example, the GoDuo’s are built tough, connect for easy carry, can be separated for wider stereo sound, and have magnetic bases. Video of the KNZ GoDuo speakers in action after the break. (more…)

Traveling musicians have it rough. Sure it looks cool walking around with a wooden guitar strapped to your back but it is a surefire way to a damaged guitar. This reality has given birth to the KLOS Carbon Fiber Travel Guitar. Not only is it built tough for taking a beating but it also has a bolt-on neck for breaking it down for smaller bagged travel. The only hybrid carbon fiber and wooden acoustic travel guitar ever built, this guitar features a high quality mahogany and blackwood neck, a carbon fiber foam core sandwich soundboard,...

If you are one of the people waiting for the Apple HomePod Smart Speaker, the time has come. Almost. This Friday, January 26th, pre-ordering will be gin for shipments beginning on February 9th (assuming you live in the US, UK, or Australia). If you have never heard of the Apple HomePod it is similar to Amazon Alexa and Google Home but powered by Siri and with different tech. In the future you will...

The crowded market of Bluetooth speakers continues to grow. Bose is adding a new speaker to their SoundLink line with a tiny/portable speaker, the SoundLink Micro ($110). The Bose SoundLink Micro Bluetooth Speaker is just 1.5-inches high and 3.75-inches square and weighs 0.64-pounds. We can expect to see this speaker for sale around September 21st, 2017 and it will be available in black, orange, and...

This Ocean Wave Projector ($19) is pretty cool. Pretty cool for your next psychedelic party or if you just have a tough time falling asleep. The ocean wave projector creates a relaxing visual display (in dark rooms) on any surface you point it at, mainly the ceiling. There are seven colors and brightness settings. There is even a built-in speaker for playing music but the quality of said speaker is suspect. For me, it is about sleep. Turn on the Ocean Wave Projector and stare at the ceiling, the unit turns off after one hour. Video after...

The SOUNDBOKS speaker is portable… just like a YETI Tundra 65 Cooler is “portable”. They both have handles anyway. That isn’t the point really as this speaker system claims to be the loudest portable speaker (119dB). Not sure if that is the case though, considering the DiamondBoxx Model XL says it goes to 120dB. I digress. The SOUNDBOKS Bluetooth Speaker ($875) is built with birchwood and has an aluminum frame. The speaker comes with 2 batteries and plays about 30 hours at high volume (200 hours on low). Amplification...

Apple isn’t always first to the game with gadgets, but they are often one of the better options. I am sincerely hoping this is the case with their latest entry into the smart speaker arena. Apples latest gadget is the HomePod ($349) which is landing in the US, UK, and Australia in December of this year. The speaker does similar tricks as the Alexa and Google Home speakers but should blow them all away when it comes to sound quality. At least that is the pitch. You simply talk to the speaker like you would with Siri on your iOS...

Take your karaoke game on the road, or just about anywhere for that matter. The Reacher Portable Karaoke Machine ($27.99) makes it easy and inexpensive to have impromptu karaoke sessions. No expensive karaoke bar needed to rock out. This tiny karaoke machine pumps out pretty solid sound, has multiple connection options including Bluetooth, 3.5mm AUX line-in, microphone jack, Micro SD card slot, and USB. It even includes a tiny microphone. Battery life is 10 hours via a 2000 mac battery which can also be used to charge other devices like...

I have lived in apartments and condos with walls so thin I could hear my neighbors daily conversations and other things. Things I didn’t want to hear. And I am sure they could even hear all of the noise we made on our side of the paper thin walls. I have never been so self conscious about my shower singing. Now imagine if you were practicing singing, guitar, flute, or playing video games. Especially at odd hours. Yep, you would not make the neighbors happy. Unless of course you had your own mini soundproof studio. The Danbocchi...
