I think it is pretty fair to say that kids truly do have it pretty good these days. Geesh. I was just having a discussion with a few buddies and one of them was bragging because he grew up with a Green Machine while all of his friends could only afford Big Wheels. How times have changed. I was just getting used to kids driving around in their tiny electric cars. This electric powerboat for children certainly ups the game. The JimBoat was conceived by boatbuilder Denis Jimenez when he noticed his five-year old grandson was interested...

EHANG 184 Electric Helicopter

Take a DJI drone and make it larger, much larger, add a seat and you have the EHANG 184. While it isn’t that simple, it isn’t that far off. This replacement car of the future is a personal helicopter. Much of the flight systems are automated (like the DJI’s). In recent testing of the EHANG 184 they have flown up to 984-feet high with over 500-pounds, recorded a distance of 9.3-miles with a top speed of 80.7 MPH, and logged 1000’s of manned flights. While I am sure it is safe and will only improve with time, I would like to see an 0h-shit parachute added before I hop inside. More pictures and video of the EHANG 184 after the break. (more…)

I am obsessed with dashboard car cameras. I have a camera in every car I own and love the peace of mind they provide should something go awry. Dashcams have provided me with some entertaining videos and have also helped to keep a dishonest person honest during a fender bender. After trying several brands of dashcams I have been loyal to BlackVue for the last 5+ years. The BlackVue cameras are made in Korea, they are high quality, and have rarely failed me. Most dashboard camera brands, who will not be named here today, have let me down...

Pemenol Wireless Vehicle Backup Sensor System Control Unit

If you happen to have a vehicle that doesn’t have a rear camera or backup sensors, you should check out an aftermarket reverse/backup radar system. A friend of mine has an older pickup truck and has a tough time backing up. The truck is so long that he can’t tell if he is 6-inches or 6-feet away from obstacles, not to mention the dangerous blind spots. Long story short, we spent about 4-hours installing the system this weekend. Read on for that review. (more…)

A Swedish based EV company named Cake has come out with their first product, this ugly minimalist designed electric bike – the Kalk. I can’t get over the name. “I’m gonna grab my Kalk and head home, see ya’ll tomorrow.” The Cake Kalk ($14,000) is built for on and off-road riding and can hit 50 MPH with a range of 50-miles. In staying with the “50” theme, they are limiting the initial production run to 50 units. ...

I am a big fan of Apple Maps now that they have gotten better and don’t send me on wild goose chases. With that said, I often find myself using the Waze app when going on longer trips or when I may be driving a bit faster than the speed limit. For those of you not familiar with the Waze app, it uses crowd sourced data to update you of a where the cops are hiding (and other things as well). Pretty cool app. The Escort Max 360C ($700) might just be the next purchase as it not only uses crowd data for spotting police but also has...

This electric pocket bike is a ready to carve up the city streets. The design is clearly a copy of the Ducati Monster. Not a bad looking bike to copy I suppose. The Daymak Rogue ($2,300) is a 72V electric scooter that comes with a Bluetooth controller for locking the scooter and adjusting acceleration. There is a large 1021 cubic inch locking storage compartment, cruise control, and 3-speeds.    ...

Subwing Gif

The Subwing ($249) is an actual product you can buy today. It is made to be towed behind a watercraft at a slow speed of about 3-knots. The idea is to recreate the feeling of flying while underwater. More pictures and video after the break. (more…)
