I am obsessed with dashboard car cameras. I have a camera in every car I own and love the peace of mind they provide should something go awry. Dashcams have provided me with some entertaining videos and have also helped to keep a dishonest person honest during a fender bender. After trying several brands of dashcams I have been loyal to BlackVue for the last 5+ years. The BlackVue cameras are made in Korea, they are high quality, and have rarely failed me. Most dashboard camera brands, who will not be named here today, have let me down...

Pemenol Wireless Vehicle Backup Sensor System Control Unit

If you happen to have a vehicle that doesn’t have a rear camera or backup sensors, you should check out an aftermarket reverse/backup radar system. A friend of mine has an older pickup truck and has a tough time backing up. The truck is so long that he can’t tell if he is 6-inches or 6-feet away from obstacles, not to mention the dangerous blind spots. Long story short, we spent about 4-hours installing the system this weekend. Read on for that review. (more…)

Subaru has, for the most part, ignored the SUV market, until now. Subaru’s latest vehicle is a new SUV with a new engine. Of course it will be all-wheel drive. The Subaru Ascent comes with a new 2.4-liter engine in the usual boxer configuration. This engine has 10.6:1 compression (higher than normal for Subaru) and a twin-scroll turbocharger with intercooler. All of this means that it will have 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is a CVT style and can tow up to 5,000-lbs. The wheel base is 113.8-inches with 153.5 cubic...

If the latest Tesla Gen2 Roadster makes it to market (slated for 2020) it will be the fastest production car to date, with a 0-60 mph time of 1.9 seconds. That is insanely fast but will cost you around $200,000. 0-100 mph is expected to be just 4.2 seconds and the quarter mile would be under 9 seconds! Top speed wasn’t officially posted but Elon Musk hinted at 250 mph+. The specs are almost too good to be true. The battery is a massive 200kWh pack with a 620-mile range per charge. Video of the Tesla Second Generation Roadster after...

If you drive a car, it is only a matter of time before a rock gets kicked up and leaves a nice chip or crack on your windshield. Such is life I suppose. Normally when you get a chip in the windshield glass (often called a bullseye, star, or crack) it is an expensive repair or a call to the insurance company. That is no longer the case with this inexpensive windshield chip repair kit at just $8. Read the instructions first and watch a couple of videos before attempting the repair though.    ...

Apparently this is a “thing” as there are multiple manufacturers of this car tent umbrella gadget. I have yet to see one of these car tent things in the real world. For around $239 you can have a remote controlled umbrella for your car. You simply put it on the roof of your car, hit the button on the remote, watch it unfold, then strap it down. Or you could buy a car cover for $20. I’m just saying.   ...

The car sunshade is great for protecting the dash and interior of your car while keeping the interior temperature down a bit. All fine and dandy, but the Car Full Of Cats Sunshade is so much more. For one, duh, it makes it look like you have a car full of cats but more importantly it lets the world know you DGAF. It is 50″ x 27.5″ which should fit most cars. Includes two suction cups for easy installation. ...
