DEFCO BA350 Super Giant Ford Raptor Front1

The Ford Raptor is a pretty great (and expensive) truck in its own right. But bigger is always usually better. This beautiful beast is the DEFCO BA350. It is a one-ton diesel truck with Raptor looks and DNA, and yes “BA” does stand for bad ass.

The truck manages to look like a Ford Raptor at the one-ton size with proper scale. They achieved this with massive raptor styled fenders, 43- inch military-grade tires, and beefy King suspension. There are a few options available for the BA350; Stage 1, 1.5, 2, and 3. Check out videos and more details after the break (and a link for a chance to win your own BA350 truck). (more…)

Gibbs Terraquad Amphibious UTV 3

The Gibbs Terraquad Amphibious UTV plays well on land and in the water.  In fact it can go 50mph on land and 45mph on the water. Very respectable speeds for both.

The downfall of such a Swiss Army Knife style of vehicle is that it won’t be a “great” UTV or boat. It will be good enough, however. It has tiny tires and just rear wheel drive. In other words, don’t expect to conquer the rubicon trail in this amphibious UTV.

It would be perfect for getting around a ranch, trailer park on the river, or the retirement community on the lake. Video and pictures of the Gibbs Terraquad after the break. (more…)

Sure, the rear haunch looks like a 2017 Camaro but that doesn’t take anything away from this new Aston Martin. The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is wrapped in carbon fiber bits and makes more downforce than any other production Aston, all with out a spoiler. This car is built to replace the Vanquish S and does so at 3,732-lbs with a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that puts out 715-hp. Torque is at 664 lb-ft (900 Nm). This beast of an engine is mated with an 8-speed transmission controlled by a ZF paddle shift system. Top speed...

Reconfigurable Wheel Track

The smart kids at Carnegie Mellon Universities National Robotics Engineering Center (CMU NREC) have reinvented the wheel. They totally went agains the grain and made a circular wheel that can convert to a triangular track. Video of this crazy shape-shifting tire after the break. (more…)

2020 Ford Bronco Offwhite

Fingers crossed that the 2020 Ford Bronco rumors are true. I imagine that they are, and that a return of the Ford Bronco would be awesome and expensive. The only folks that don’t want this vehicle to see the light of day are the Jeep employees. OJ Simpson is super pumped.

Video showing the info and details, known to date, after the break. (more…)

I am obsessed with dashboard car cameras. I have a camera in every car I own and love the peace of mind they provide should something go awry. Dashcams have provided me with some entertaining videos and have also helped to keep a dishonest person honest during a fender bender. After trying several brands of dashcams I have been loyal to BlackVue for the last 5+ years. The BlackVue cameras are made in Korea, they are high quality, and have rarely failed me. Most dashboard...

Pemenol Wireless Vehicle Backup Sensor System Control Unit

If you happen to have a vehicle that doesn’t have a rear camera or backup sensors, you should check out an aftermarket reverse/backup radar system. A friend of mine has an older pickup truck and has a tough time backing up. The truck is so long that he can’t tell if he is 6-inches or 6-feet away from obstacles, not to mention the dangerous blind spots. Long story short, we spent about 4-hours installing the system this weekend. Read on for that review. (more…)

Subaru has, for the most part, ignored the SUV market, until now. Subaru’s latest vehicle is a new SUV with a new engine. Of course it will be all-wheel drive. The Subaru Ascent comes with a new 2.4-liter engine in the usual boxer configuration. This engine has 10.6:1 compression (higher than normal for Subaru) and a twin-scroll turbocharger with intercooler. All of this means that it will have 260 hp and 277 lb-ft of torque. The transmission is a CVT style and can tow up to 5,000-lbs. The wheel base is 113.8-inches with 153.5 cubic...
