Bluetooth Watch With Caller ID

In what looks like just a fairly decent watch, you get a Bluetooth connection to your cellphone with vibrating alert for incoming calls and caller ID with the name/number displayed.  I have no idea if it works well or not, but I like the idea.  They also have a brief mention in the product title about SMS.  This particular caller id watch will set you back about $80.

Dew Motion iStick Playtime

With the world waiting to see if the rumors of an Apple iWatch will come to be… other manufacturers are taking their own approaches to the Smartwatch.  Remember the Pebble Watch?  One reason to take a look at this new bridge to your smartphone, via your wrist, is the controls.  The Dew Motion iStick Playtime (iSport Playtime) is targeted towards sporty folks and is more of an armband than a watch.  The Playtime can be worn on your wrist or forearm or attached to your bike, backpack or other gear.  Read on for more details.

Harry Winston Opus XIII Watch

Don’t look at the Harry Winston Opus XIII Watch if you easily get vertigo.  The watch face has a sliding trap door, eleven spinning triangles as hour hands, and fifty-nine minute hands.  to be completely honest looking at the watch face I can’t even tell what time it is (my guess is 10:05?).

The watch was developed in collaboration with Ludovic Ballouard and features a 44.25 mm case of 18K white gold, a hand sewn black alligator leather strap, a sapphire crystal front and back, a 35-hour power reserve, and is water resistant to 30-meters.  No idea on price yet, but considering there are only going to be 130 units made I assume they will be expensive.

Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona Platimum Watch

The Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona Platinum Watch grows on you.  It tends to starts off with a love it or hate it type response.  For those in the latter category, a decent percentage start to like it the more they look at it.  So whether you like it or not here are the details on this 50th anniversary of the original.

All metal bits on the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona Platinum watch are 950 platinum.  The bezel is Cerachrom brown ceramic and the dial is ice blue.  The movement is a 4130 self-winding style.  Good luck getting one though as they will be made in very limited quantities.

Ressence Type 3 Watch

At first glance the Ressence Type 3 Watch looks like they just rearranged the hands in a clever fashion.  Look closer and you will see that there really aren’t any hands, at least not in the typical watch style.  The time is displayed via rotating disks.  Look again and you will notice that there is no crown on the Ressence Type 3.  While those design features are pretty neat, the real stunner is the way the entire face is filled with a liquid.  This makes the indications seem to be directly on the surface of the crystal face.  Neat indeed.

The watch is wound by turning the back case.  Same goes for setting the date and time.  Just waiting to hear more about pricing and availability.

I like that the watch also displays the military time.  I wish the batteries were rechargeable, preferably by solar.  Maybe the next version?

Pebble E-Paper Watch

The Pebble E-Paper SmartWatch is about to hit the market (later this month?) for $150.  The watch shares data and tech with your iPhone or Android phone and has the ability to install watch apps.

Say you are a bicyclist, you can use the Pebble Watch as bike computer to keep track of your speed, distance, elapsed time, etc…  The watch uses your phones GPS for precise tracking.  Similar apps are available for runners as well, track your pace, distance, control your music, etc…

Some other features of the Pebble E-Paper SmartWatch include caller ID, music controls for iTunes, Pandora, and Spotify, an accelerometer, Bluetooth, and a battery that lasts about 7 days.

Casio G-Shock GB6900AA

The Casio GB-6900 Bluetooth G-Shock Watch has added Bluetooth and some smart functionality.  The watch will connect with your iPhone via Bluetooth 4.0 and will alert you to incoming calls and emails, will automatically set the time, warn you if you are out of range from your phone (never leave your phone behind again), and will help you find your phone by making it ring (even when in silent mode).

Some other cool features include an emergency alert button, an auto log-in/out feature for your computer, and a tap (the watch) to silence phone feature.

In the past Bluetooth watches needed charging every few days… not the Casio G-6900 Bluetooth G-Shock… it uses a lithium battery that will last for about two years.  The GB6900AA is available in four colors… check them out here.
