3G iPhone Coming July 11th – Starting at $199

Steve Jobs WWDC

No surprises here… Steve Jobs announced today, at the WWDC 2008 event, that the 3G iPhone will be out on July 11th.  From a “size and weight” perspective… not a ton has changed.  The 3G iPhone is 4.5 x 2.4 x 0.48 inches (vs 4.5 x 2.4 x 0.46 for the original iPhone) and weighs 4.6 ounces (lighter than the original iPhone’s 4.8 ounces).  The phone is still available in 8GB and 16GB sizes but comes in black and white instead of the silver.  Contact search will be added to the 3G iPhone as well which is nice because scrolling through tons of names, frankly, sucked on the current iPhone.  GPS will be added as well.
