GoPro Sushi Conveyor Belt Video

While the title pretty much sums up this one, I rather enjoyed watching it. It is the closest thing to being a fly on a wall, in this case a GoPro on a Japanese sushi conveyor belt. Some people notice it, some don’t. Video after the break. (more…)

Gotta love Japanese engineered products. The Kokuyo Harinacs Stapleless Stapler ($11) binds up to 8 pages together with a bit of magical paper cutting and folding. All of this happens with a single squeeze of the handle. Just like a traditional stapler but without the staples. You also have to love the Japanese translations like this one, “Stapler that do not use the “needle and close the paper”....

For the next few weeks I will be typing to your from Tokyo Japan.  In the spirit of this trip I thought I would start off with a strange one right outa Japan.  The Bandai Smartpants Smartphone Underwear.  Their slogan is "Protect the home button".  Oh boy.  Guess...

This clip (after the break) shows what happens when you release a very realistic Velociraptor dinosaur...

You have to see it to believe it.  The Japanese have taken candy to a whole new level with some amazing imagination and candy tech.  Sadly, not sure most folks would have the patience to read the instructions let alone pull this off here in good old USofA.  You get some of the tamer Japanese...

In an effort to deal with the extreme heat a few Japanese companies have come out with an icy cold foam spray.  The foam cooling sprays have names like "Hokkyoku Monogatari" (translated – Tales of the North Pole) and can be molded into anything and feels like a ball of confetti. "Products such as these are not new, but we have seen...

Our thoughts are with the people in Japan and surrounding areas affected by the 8.9 earthquake and tsunami.  Looking for missing people must be very stressful and difficult.  Google has stepped up with a person finder to help update the status and find missing people.  Currently...
