Looks like the Stator Fat Wheel Electric Scooter (Launch Edition) is finally available for pre-order. Let’s get the obvious good bits out of the way – this scooter looks amazing, it has a range of up to 80 miles, a top speed of 30 mph, disc brakes, fat tires, a slick handlebar display, and LED lighting. Looks great. Let’s hope this thing performs as good as it looks because the marketing material smells a bit fishy. Here are some of my cringe-worthy favorites. Engineering is an art and we’re perfecting it …world’s...

For most, this post will not apply. For those with trucks and trailers – this is a game-changer. Gone are the days of having to hardwire a clunky brake controller inside of your tow vehicle. The Curt 51180 Echo plugs into your standard 7-way connector and communicates with your smartphone via an app. From the Curt Echo app, you can control brake sensitivity, braking power, and store several profiles. This setup becomes super powerful for...

You bring home your shiny new car or truck and admire all of the time and energy that went into the design, then you see the front license plate bracket/mount and you begin to cry. It is like the car was ready to load on a delivery truck and they forgot that it needed a place for the front license plate so they just slapped one on. Most vehicle license plate brackets are ugly, bulky, and sometimes they even rattle.

Well, for once, our California politicians approved some decent laws (SB806, SB1399, SB1387, and AB1614) and are allowing license plate decals. Assuming you make it through the DMV bureaucracy. The easiest path to a clean and legal solution is at LicensePlateWrap.com. For just $50 they do all of the back-and-forths with CA DMV and ultimately ship you a high quality and great looking license plate decal. Watch the video after the break if you want to see how easy the installation is – (more…)

I am usually not a fan of local or federal cameras erasing any/all privacy that we have left but this one makes sense. The next time you are a passenger in a vehicle, study the drivers around you. There are a shocking number of phone-addicted drivers on the road today. Australia has launched traffic cameras that catch drivers using their phones and promptly sends them a ticket in the mail. Video of this PSA after the break.

Aston Martin Brough Superior AMB 001 Motorcycle Right Side

What the heck is going on? Aston Martin teamed up with Brough Superior to make a motorcycle? Harley Davidson is making e-bikes? Time to short some stocks. Read on for a bit more on this craziness. (more…)

Now that the RC quadcopters and drones have proven so stable and reliable, they are growing in size and carrying humans. It was only a matter of time. Heck, the Tesla’s are basically giant versions of the electric RC cars I play with from time-to-time. Looks like these coaxial octocopter versions (and quadcopter styles) will be hitting the sky to race within the next 18-months if all goes to plan. Airspeeder plans to make these retro-looking copters for racing...

2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8 Stingray Red Side

The infamous Chevrolet Corvette has had a ton of design changes over its lifetime. Some were good and some were downright ugly. The 2020 Corvette C8 Stingray, IMHO, is one of the good years. The engineers at Chevy didn’t reuse and older designs and basically started from scratch.

The 2020 C8 Corvette Stingray is the first mid-engine Corvette. The new 6.2L LT2 V8 can be viewed through a rear hatch window and puts out 495-horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. All this goodness can be had for under $60k. More pictures after the break. (more…)

The team at Boosted Boards have added a new mode of transport to their fleet of electrified skateboards – an electric scooter. This new scooter is known as the Boosted Rev. The Boosted Rev is built from the ground up in typical Boosted fashion. They won’t be the cheapest electric scooter on the market, but they will arguably be one of the best. Think Apple of the electric scooter and skateboard market. The Boosted Rev has...
