Tesla seems to have the electric sports car arena to themselves, for the most part.  Sure there are other guys honking their horns, but most aren't readily available for purchase.  Looks like a German automaker named Artega will be launching their Sport Electric (SE) in 2012 for about $200,000.  The Artega SE uses two electric motors...

Looks like ZMP is still pushing the robotic minicar idea, their latest is the RoboCar G which is a one-seater fully electric car.  Ummm, isn't this basically a golf cart?  Sorta, but is super tech'd out with stereo cameras, laser rangefinders, radar,...

ECOS Motors in Springfield Missouri are taking pre-orders (available February 2010) for their electric "supercar" the ECOS Harbinger.  Read on for details, video, and more.

It's from Sanyo, Sanyo landed a huge hit with the introduction of the eneloop brand that includes a number of "green" products, such as lamps, batteries or even Wii controllers. In the past few months, the company...

Volkswagen - Autosalon Genf 2019

Apparently Tesla put the entrenched car makers on notice and they all woke up from a deep slumber. Now, just about every car manufacturer is working on an EV. In Volkswagen’s case they are working on quite a few.  Most will be… boring. This one, however, isn’t boring at all and is dubbed the ID. BUGGY.

This electric VW dune buggy will be based on their new modular electric vehicle platform called MEB. This electric buggy is inspired by the VW-powered buggies of the 60’s and 80’s. The ID. BUGGY will be a rear wheel drive with a 62 KwH battery with a 155 mile range. More pictures of this electric VW buggy after the break. (more…)

Swind E Classic Electric Mini Cooper

First off – I love the classic Mini Cooper (I own one that has been converted with a Honda motor, much faster and more reliable), I also love electric cars (I own a Tesla). So, you would think that a classic Mini Cooper that has been electrified would have me excited. Well… it did… until I read the specs. Read on for this abomination.  (more…)

Let me start off by saying this strange little electric folding bicycle isn’t going to replace your main bike. The JupiterBike 2.0 is built for extreme portability and mobility, for example; in the trunk of your car, your airplane, boat, or RV. The Jupiter Electric Folding Bike can go 15-mph and has a range of 10-miles on a single charge. Not to shabby for something that can find in a backpack. More pictures and video of the JupiterBike 2.0 after the...

Taiga TS2 Electric Snowmobile Side View

A Canaidian startup just released an all electric snowmobile, the Taiga TS2, and it is quick. Like 0-60 mph in under 3 seconds. The Taiga electric snowmobile was designed from the ground up for its job of quietly shredding the snow and ice. The TS2 is powered by a brushless motor and weighs under 500 lbs, similar to the gasoline versions. Range is about 62- miles per charge, there is regenerative braking, and 250 Nm of torque. Just like the Tesla electric cars, Taiga plans to make over-the-air software updates. (more…)

I think it is pretty fair to say that kids truly do have it pretty good these days. Geesh. I was just having a discussion with a few buddies and one of them was bragging because he grew up with a Green Machine while all of his friends could only afford Big Wheels. How times have changed. I was just getting used to kids driving around in their tiny electric cars. This electric powerboat for...

The WAERATOR is an electric gadget that sits on top of your wine bottle and does triple duty – it dispenses, aerates, and preserves your wine. Sure it looks like someone stuck a sports car gear shifter on top of a wine bottle, but people seem to like it. It runs on AA batteries and dispenses about 1-ounce of wine per second. Get your drink on. Video of the Waerator after the break.
