Fujifilm Finepix Z33WP

FujiFilm FinePix Z33WP Review …. read on for details and review.

Price – Around $150… check pricing out here.

Rugged And Waterproof – The lens is fairly well protected and recessed which should make it more rugged.  The camera is waterproof to 3 meters.image

Imaging – Underwater photos were decent and often needed the flash.  The lens seems to like bright lighting conditions whether underwater or on dry land.  Keep the lens clean.  Seems obvious, but this camera is less forgiving of any lens smudges… they will basically blur the photo significantly.  Face detection and digital shake reduction work well.

Video – Nothing amazing here… but it works.  640 x 480 video.

Controls and layout – The button layout and UI take some getting used to.  For example the zoom buttons (usually labeled + and –) are labeled W and T (for Wide and Telephoto) which is definitely not intuitive.  The menus and buttons to get you to the proper place in those menus can be painful.  May just take getting used to. The screen is bright and sized well at 2.7 inches.  The best part about the camera is the size and feel/shape… you will actually carry this camera with you on vacations, etc…  The camera slips in/out of my pocket with ease and doesn’t add to much bulk weight… in other words it doesn’t pull my pants off.
