Garmin Nuvi 255W

The good: The Garmin Nuvi 255W has a large 4.3-inch touch screen and a clean and easy to use interface.  The operating system, trip routing/rerouting is faster than most competitor products we have tested. The “where am I?” feature is handy for emergencies. Text-to-speech reads street and points of interest names for you so you don’t have to take your eyes off of the road.  The price!

The bad: The Nuvi 255W is a bit bulky when mounted in the cradle.

The bottom line: For an entry-level GPS the Garmin Nuvi 255W is still one of our favorite choices because of the price and speed of the unit.

The Garmin Nuvi 255W is basically the same as the Garmin Nuvi 205W except for the fact that the 255W has text-to-speech and a full map (with data) instead of just regional data.
