IP Cameras continue to improve on quality while coming down in price finally making them make sense for small business and home use. The Panasonic BL-C230A will set you back around $260 which isn't exactly cheap, but read on for some of the cool features that make it worth your money.
The Panasonic BL-C230A Wireless Network Camera shoots in 640×480 H.264 and can be viewed from any computer with a browser. The IP camera uses a secure address and acts as its own video server allowing remote viewing and PTZ (the Z is digital) controls. Most of that is pretty standard, here are the good bits. The BL-C230A has built in heat, sound, and motion sensors, as opposed to pixel change monitoring that most cameras use to detect motion. You can even set the wireless IP camera to alert you when it detects a noise, or a heated (person or animal) object, etc, Very cool.
Not really sure what to think of these consumer based Panasonic IP cameras. Some are pretty cool but I think I like this one the best. Image quality is good and it’s also wireless
