Nikon Coolpix S5100 Review

I love my digital camera but almost never take it out of the house because of the size.  I like things that fit in my jeans pockets, like my wallet and cell phone.  The Nikon Coolpix S5100 just might be my pockets best friend.

The Coolpix S5100 lies between the Coolpix S4000 and the S6000.  You get a slim camera with a full 5x optical zoom with a range of 28-140mm and a standard CCD image sensor at 12.2 Megapixels.

The Nikon S5100 digital camera comes with the new version of ViewNX software. ViewNX 2 basically makes for a user-friendly method of image editing and management. Based on ViewNX, version 2, it mainly improves upon functionality in terms of video editing. This was derived directly from the Nikon DSLR cameras with this video function. The rookie photographers, like me, will really enjoy this software.

The Nikon Coolpix S5100 is a light weight and slim camera that is a great all-around daily camera. It is a camera that slips in your pocket like your cell phone and is ready for any camera moment.  The wide angle zoom with a light tele of 140mm makes it possible to shoot all-round. It works well with capturing indoor picture moments as well as outdoor landscapes.
