The Cisco Flip funeral has barely ended and Olympus is celebrating with their latest, the Olympus LS-20M. The LS-20M is a handheld HD video and Linear PCM recorder. Expect better than average audio from the LS-20M when reviewed as that is typically a strength of Olympus. The video is displayed on a 2" LCD and pertinent data (battery life, audio
level, time, etc) is displayed below that on a 1.46" LCD.
The camera has an autofocus lens with a 4x digital zoom (sadly no optical zoom). You will get up to 1080p video recording and the ability to shoot in low light. The audio is recorded at 24 bit/96 hHz in Linear PCM stereo sound. What does that mean? It basically means higher than CD quality sound.
The Olympus LS-20M is a housed in a sexy black and silver body weighing in at 5.4 ounces. Expect to see the LS-20M in June for about $299.
