OK, I don't think they like it being called a snorkel, but it sorta is a snorkel. With that said, the Powerbreather is a snorkel for swimmers, not so much divers. Just like a snorkel, air is inhaled through the top or back of the unit. The top of the air intake has a one way check valve to keep water keep water from coming in the air chamber. When the user exhales the air exits through another valve on the front of the mask. This design keeps the user from having to breath stale air. No more turning your head for air while swimming. No idea of pricing or availability of the German Powerbreather yet.
