An MIT PhD student, Dave Smith, with some help from a team of mechanical engineers and nano-technologists from the Varanasi Research Group have invented LiquiGlide. LiquiGlide is a super slippery, non-toxic, coating that keeps ketchup (and just about any other liquid-like substance) from sticking to its container. If the condiment companies begin using LiquiGlide (listen up Heinz 57) you will no longer have to bruise your hand trying to get the last bit of ketchup out of the bottle.
