Russia has some seriously rough terrain and weather. Some pretty tough 4×4 vehicles wouldn’t have a chance on much of their landscape. The saying that necessity is the mother of invention is true. In this case a Russian builder has started making the Avtoros Shaman 8×8 All-Terrain Vehicle. Read on for details, pictures, and video.

The Avtoros Shaman 8×8 runs on 8 low pressure tires for a smooth yet bouncy ride. The tire pressure can be raised and lowered from the cabin with the push of a button. It is powered by a 3.0-liter diesel engine which makes 146hp. Not the most powerful engine around but the gearbox and torque make up for the top speed (45-mph).

The Avtoros Shaman is very large at almost 20-feet long, 10-feet tall, and over 8-feet wide. The cargo capacity is also enormous and cane lug over 1.5 tons of gear. The 68-gallon fuel tank will provide a range of over 800 miles. Still think your Ford Bronco can take the Shaman 8×8? How about the ability to go up 45-degree inclines, a sealed underbody with optional propeller for water crossings, and 3 steering modes (all 4 front wheels steer for highway use, all 8 wheels turn for off road steering, or all 8 wheels synched for sideways travel).
