The Hangover Drink

The never ending search for the hangover cure continues. I would say about 99% of the “hangover cures” you see sold online and at liquor stores are bogus. Time will tell if this one The Hangover Drink will actually work. With that said, their approach is a bit different than the others currently available.

The Hangover Drink uses Hovenia Dulcis (or Oriental raisin tree) which contains Dihydromyricetin (DHM). This compound is supposed to help detoxify our bodies after loading up on alcohol. Product is launching in June 2017, fingers crossed this works!

Acetaldehyde is a toxic formed through the breakdown of alcohol in our liver, and it builds up when we drink more alcohol than our liver can process. It causes cellular inflammation, resulting in effects like sweating, nausea, and vomiting. Sound familiar?

DHM found inside The Hangover Drink speeds up the decompose of acetaldehyde to prevent its buildup. It is an enzyme that speeds up the breakdown of alcohol into acetic acid that gets flushed safely out of our body.
