Abxylute M5/M6: Magnetic Phone Controllers That Slide Out Like an Xperia Play

Sponsored Spotlight

Abxylute M5 and M6 magnetic mobile gaming controllers product hero

Phone gamepads used to mean either a toy that slides into your pocket or a brick that clamps your phone like a vise. Abxylute M5 and M6 try a third move: a MagSafe-style magnetic puck on the back, then a damped slide rail that pops a real controller out from behind the phone – Xperia Play vibes without the ancient Sony hardware. Live on Kickstarter as of October 6, 2026. Early Bird (first 72 hours) starts around $59 (M5) / $65 (M6); retail MSRP is $84.99 / $89.99.

M6: wireless, grips, the full buffet

The M6 is the feature stack. Bluetooth 5.3 (wired USB-C if you want zero wireless drama), capacitive sticks with about a 20-degree tilt, Hall Effect linear triggers, 6-axis gyro, vibration, and detachable magnetic grips when you want a more traditional hold. Rated battery: up to about 10 hours on a 500 mAh cell. Weight: about 191 g, thickness about 26 mm.

M5: thinner, wired, pass-through charge

The M5 is the pocketable twin. USB-C only (no Bluetooth, no controller battery to babysit), micro-switch shoulder triggers, sliding sticks in the M4 tradition, and pass-through charging so the phone can top up while you play. About 170 g, about 23 mm thick, and as thin as 8.5 mm at the skinniest point per Abxylute. There is also a limited M5 Founders Edition (translucent green/black, 1,000 units) at about $109.

Modes, magnets, and the slide click

  • Modes: XInput (Android / cloud / remote play), NS (Switch-style layout), and PS (iPhone games / PlayStation layout).
  • Mount: MagSafe on iPhone, Qi2 magnetic ring on some Androids, adhesive metal ring in the box for everyone else. Magnets resist yanking better than sideways shove – treat it like any MagSafe puck.
  • Slide: Bidirectional damped rails with a springy open click (the satisfying fidget toy part).
  • App: Abxy Game app for virtual touch mapping and extras.

Price, tiers, ship targets

Per launch coverage (verify live Kickstarter rewards before you pledge): Early Bird window is the first 72 hours from October 6 – M5 ~$59, M6 ~$65. Regular Kickstarter prices climb to about $65 / $69. MSRP $84.99 / $89.99. Estimated delivery: November 2026 (M6), December 2026 (M5). Crowdfunding caveats apply: dates slip, prototypes in press photos may not match final tooling, and magnetic mounts are not clamp-style security. Want a bigger handheld instead of a phone add-on?
