No kettle, no outlet, no excuses. The OutIn Nano 2 is a 740 g, water-bottle-sized espresso machine that heats its own water and pushes it through at up to 21 bar. A 5,000 mAh battery gets you up to 9 shots per charge from room-temperature water, and 45W USB-C refills it in about 100 minutes. Ground coffee or Nespresso Original capsules both work. Price: $179.99, and OutIn’s own store has it at $143.99 right now.
What Nano 2 fixes
The original Nano’s weak spot was the battery. Nano 2 doubles the endurance with a 54 Wh pack, cuts a full recharge from 180 minutes to about 100, and bumps the heater to 120W so 50 ml of water hits 93C (199F) in roughly 159 seconds. Start with hot water from a kettle or thermos and OutIn claims 600-plus extractions per charge. The coffee basket also grows to 8 g for a fuller shot.
Two ways to brew
Fill the 85 ml stainless steel tank, drop in either the ground coffee basket or a Nespresso Original-compatible capsule, then hold the button for two seconds. Under three minutes later you are drinking espresso on a trail, in a hotel room or at your desk. Using pre-heated water? Double-press and it skips straight to the pump.

The fine print: “9 shots” assumes 50 ml shots heated from 77F room temperature, so cold mornings mean fewer. You need a 45W USB-C PD charger to get the 100-minute recharge. The first-gen Basket Plus does not fit Nano 2. Flying? Carry-on only, and no brewing in flight.
We have been chasing pocket espresso for a long time: see the hand-pumped Mypressi TWIST from 2009. Nano 2 does the same trick with a battery, a heater and zero hand pumping. Going all-in at home instead? Check the Super Veloce RS Black Edition.
