Motoped = Part Mountain Bike / Part Motocross

image

I guess I am not the only one lusting over this type of a mountain bike/motocross combination.  This Motoped, DIY bike kit, is on KickStarter and has blown past its funding goal.  The cool part about the Motoped idea is that each builder (aka you) can take a different route.  You can upgrade the wheels, suspension, exhaust, etc, but the basics are all available from Motoped.  My favorite part is the use of a Honda 4-stroke motor.  Read on for more details, pictures, and a video of the Motoped in action.

Motoped Frame

Motoped Pedal

The basics are a Honda xr50/pit bike 50-190cc motor, gas tank, seat and a few other motorcycle parts, the mountain bike parts include forks, brakes, wheels, tires, cranks, and pedals. All of the custom made parts – frame, swing arm, jack shaft, bottom bracket, rear hub, sprockets, and exhaust system will be sold in the “Motoped Frame Kit “.
