Nissan’t Latest Robot Car Avoids Crashes

BR23C Robotic Car

Nissans latest jump into the accident-avoidance world is the BR23C robotic car.  The BR23C uses a laser range finder (LRF), which works like a bumble bee’s eye, to detect obstacles up to two meters away.  Supposedly this system then allows the “car” to “instinctively” react to obstacles and avoid them.  This is still, obviously from the looks of the thing, in development with plans of Nissan car crashes cutting by half in 2015.
