Hidden TV Mount In A Picture Frame

My wife won’t allow me to have a TV in the bedroom, so this is for the lucky guys who are allowed such a thing.  This hidden picture frame TV mount has to be one of the coolest around as it hides a TV (15-32-inches) in a nice wooden picture frame.  When you want to watch TV you simply pull the mount open and can watch TV while laying in bed in your natural resting position.  No more neck or back strain to watch TV at the end of the bed. You don’t need a huge TV either, as the TV is only a few feet above your head.

This hidden picture frame TV mount extends the TV a full 40-inches from the wall and is easy to install.  Maybe I can get one if I put a picture of my wife in the picture frame?  Worth a shot.  More details and pictures after the break.

Hecto Laser Projector

Arriving in the United States this March is LG’s Hecto Laser TV, a 100-inch two-piece  projector (screen and projector) that can work from as close as 22-inches.  The LG Hector Laser Projector has a contrast ratio of better than 1,000,000:1 and a lighting system with five times greater life than standard lamp-based projectors.

The Hecto delivers Full HD 1080p resolution, and will have plasma display viewing quality and good ambient light performance.  You get Smart TV functionality baked in and 3 HDMI ports.

LG IPS Elevator Prank

In an effort to show off how realistic the LG IPS Monitors are, and have some fun pranking folks, LG replaced the floor of an elevator with a bank monitors.  That bank of LG IPS monitors essentially made it look like the floor panels of the elevator were falling out as guests were in the elevator.  Quite funny… and scary.  Video after the break.

Logitech Harmony Touch

The Logitech Harmony remotes have been unchanged for quite some time… so the new Harmony Touch is a welcome new remote.  The Harmony Touch starts off with a major hardware redesign which includes a 2.4-inch touchscreen, cleaner button layout, backlit buttons, 15 device control, and rechargeable batteries.

Smart Forstar Projector

Another mash up that I am not sure makes a bunch of sense.  This time it is a projector and a Smart Car (Forstars).  While this idea is still just in concept phase… the idea is that you can create your own drive-in theater experience in front of any flat wall.  The video projector is integrated into the front hood and the audio plays through the cars speaker system.  You can play video wirelessly from your smartphone.  I somehow doubt this combination will actually make it to market… only time will tell.  Press release after the break.

Sony Action Cam

The GoPro Hero line just got some real competition.  It is about time… they have been pretty much in the drivers seat, no pun intended, for quite some time.  Sony is in the game now with their latest… the Sony Action Cam.  Expect Sony’s awesome imaging capabilities to shine with a 16-megapixel Exmor R sensor, SteadyShot image stabilization, HD recording, Memory Stick Micro and Micro SD/SDHC slots, a stereo microphone, HDMI output, and a ultra-wide angle Carl Zeiss Tessar Lens.  As if that wasn’t enough you also get a tough waterproof case (to a depth of 197 feet, and an option for a Wi-Fi version.  Yours for $199 to $269 for the Wi-Fi version.  Expect a full Sony Action Cam Review shortly.  Video of the Sony Action Cam after the break.

Hulu Plus Apple TV

Finally.  Hulu Plus is hitting the Apple TV, no more goofy work-around.  You simply launch the Hulu Plus app on your Apple TV and you are plugged in to hundreds of content partners including NBC, Fox, ABC, CW, Univision, etc…

Xbox 720

Rumors of a new Xbox have been going around for a bit now… but they are nothing compared to the bomb that just dropped with a leaked 56-page document titled “Xbox 720-9-24 Checkpoint Draft 1”.  The leaked document points to a release date in late 2013, 4G connectivity, augmented reality glasses, and a price tag of $299.

AOC Aire iPlay monitor

The AOC Aire iPlay Monitor is a 23-inch LED with a 60Hz refresh rate, a 1920×1080 resolution, a 5ms response time, 16:9 aspect ratio, an HDMI input, and a pair of 10 watt speakers.  That alone is pretty standard stuff… but they also stuck an iPhone / iPod dock on the base of the monitor.  Not only does it charge your iPhone or iPod but it allows for immediate video and audio playback on the monitor.  Not exactly mind blowing integration… but it makes good sense.  AOC might be a bit late to the game considering the rumors that the iPhone 5 will be getting a different (smaller) dock port.  If the price was comparable to another 23-incher that I was looking at buying… I would opt for the one with the dock port.  Yours for about $279.99.
