The isSafe 3.5-inch hard drive by ioSafe is basically a 2.5-inch SATA hard drive in a magical protective case. The case protects the drive and data from up to 15 minutes of intense heat up to 1,400 degree Fahrenheit and is waterproof for 24 hours at a depth of 5-feet. Pretty cool if you really care about your data. Product claims are nice, but ioSafe actually backed theirs up with a real demo. They cooked their hard drive and a standard hard drive. Check out the amazing pictures and video after the break.
The hard drive is basically a 2.5-inch drive in a protective 3.5-inch case. The unit has layers of protective material to keep it safe from fire and water.
The picture above is about 10 minutes of fire. The regular hard drive (left) was completely destroyed.
The picture above show the ioSafe drive after being removed from it’s casing. The drive and data were not damaged and functioned perfectly.

Is that protected with that Golden Shellback coating I saw on the today show?
I doubt it very seriously… and I bet you work for the golden shellback company from the sound of your post!
Hey doesn’t that Joe N guy seems like a spammer who works for Golden Shellback company? Why else would he spam the post twice with moronic comments? Hey Joe, the original article appears to be from June, and Al and Matt from Todays Show didn’t get their dongs Shellbacked until end of July. If you take a crash course in reading you might even notice this is a ioSafe product, and not a Golden Shellcack.
PWNED!
