California Solar Farm

San Luis Obispo county is the latest in a race to build the world’s largest solar farm.  The solar plant will cover 12.5 square miles and generate 800 megawatts of power!  OptiSolar (550 megawatts) and SunPower (250 megawatts) will be doing the installation.  The solar energy will be sold to PG&E at unknown rates.

San Luis Obispo county eh… Isn’t that where they had a major pot bust? Way to replace 12.5 square miles of weed with solar collectors. What about the hippies?!
