gorillatorch flare

Ever tried to do a project while biting down on a flashlight?  Get your mind out of the gutter people…. Seriously though, from climbing under a car in the middle of nowhere or looking under its hood, togorillatorch flare tweaking stuff inside your desktop PC (like a quick memory upgrade) that is tucked into a deep corner under your desk – these are projects that are a pain to do without a reliable and steady light source.  This is where the Gorillatorch Flare by Joby comes in!  Mounted on a flexible tripod comprised  of ball-and-socket-joints, the Gorillatorch Flare can be adjusted to stand on stuff (feet can be bent and tweaked to compensate for uneven terrain), wrap around stuff (big or small, again this thing is flexible and rubbery so it wraps and sticks), and even (thanks to its powerful magnet feet) stick to metal-magnet-friendly stuff.  The light generated by Gorillatorch Flare comes in three levels of brightness white topping off at a robust 100 lumen of truly blinding proportions.  There are also settings for white strobe, bright red, and bright red strobe – so this Halloween, you can flex the tripod into an intricate hypnotic tiara… One button is all it takes to turn the unit on, off, and to cycle through the light options. The warning label warns you not to stare into the light, not to submerge in liquids (although it is water resistant) or to stick the batteries in backwards, but it doesn’t warn about the power of the magnets at the rubberized feet of the gizmo.  Word of caution – make sure a pet or a child doesn’t manage to chew off and gag down the magnets – they are wicked powerful.  So remember, with great power comes great responsibility.

Yours for around $30 here.
