This is not a concept car. This 258 MPG (some say 282 MPG) single seater VW will be on sale starting next year for only $600! That is the good news, the bad news is that is only going to be selling in Shanghai for the time being.
The new one seater Volkswagen will have a 1.7 gallon gas tank, a cruising speed of 74.6mph, and a range of 404 miles per tank. I want one, but not sure why this car isn't shipping worldwide, I imagine it has to do with safety standards. I imagine a crash in this would be scary, as it appears to be made of very lightweight materials like an airplane. I still want one! More pictures after the break.
