The Schwinn 240 Recumbent Exercise Bike is one of the best we have reviewed, especially considering the $450 price tag. Quit paying for the gym you haven't been going to, and spend the money on a bike you can ride at home (in front of the TV?). We have tried recumbent exercise bikes that bump up against the $1,000 price tag and the Schwinn 240 bike beats most, if not all of them. Read on for the Schwinn 240 Recumbent Exercise Bike Review.
The Schwinn 240 recumbent feels extremely sturdy and strong, so it should last longer than you (and comes with a 5 year frame warranty). And if your riding improves, not to worry, the bike has 16 levels of resistance and about 20 pre-programmed workouts. The riding position, seat, and grips are comfortable and feel natural right out of the gate. Getting on and off the bike is very easy with the step-through frame. I am over six feet tall and my wife is not much over five feet tall and the bike adjusts to fit us both perfectly. A few of my favorite features are the reading rack on the handlebars, the water bottle holder, and a storage rack under the seat for extra magazines or books. The bike can hold up to a 300lb rider.
The console is very easy to read and has a multi-colored backlit screen. One of the best benefits of the Schwinn 240 Recumbent Exercise Bike is the heart rate monitor which works through the handlebar grips. This allows you to monitor your heart rate to ensure you are burning the proper number of calories. For the price, this bike is very tough to beat!
