Apple finally built the kitchen-counter screen. Apple HomeView is a 7-inch square Liquid Retina smart display on a domed speaker base, running the new Siri AI on an A18 chip. It recognizes up to six people by face and flips to each person’s own Home Screen, messages and calendar. Price: $299 for either the tabletop or the wall-mounted model. Pre-orders are open now, and it lands November 13.
Shared screen, personal brain
Walk up and HomeView knows it is you. Your Messages, Calendar, Reminders and Find My only show up when it recognizes your face and your paired iPhone or iPad is on the same Wi-Fi and was recently unlocked. Guests still get the basics: lights, weather, timers and music. Face and voice data is processed in Secure Exclaves on the A18 that, per Apple, even the HomeView software and Apple cannot read.
Siri AI moves in
This is the first Apple home device built around the new Siri AI. Ask about almost anything, go back and forth in a real conversation, then pick it up later in the Siri app on your iPhone, Mac or Apple Watch. Pair an Apple Intelligence iPhone or iPad and Siri can dig the party invite out of your Messages or pull tonight’s plans from Calendar.
Faces turn it into a clock, a weather board, a living photo frame or interactive art. The Flow face reacts to your movement, and yes, there is a Snoopy face. The display runs from 500 nits for sunny rooms down to 0.3 nits on the nightstand, and shows more detail the closer you get.
Smart home command center
HomeView is a Matter controller and Thread border router. The Home Modular face puts your favorite accessories one tap away, and the Home Camera face streams up to nine camera feeds at once. It also listens for smoke and CO alarms and pings your iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch. FaceTime gets a 12MP Center Stage camera, and Intercom reaches every HomePod and iPhone in the house.

The full personal experience needs an iPhone or iPad on iOS or iPadOS 27.2 or later. Siri AI launches in English, in beta, with usage limits. It is not on sale in the EU at launch.
Apple’s home push started with the original HomePod back in 2017, and HomeView plays right along with HomePod speakers for multiroom audio. Before that, there was the 2015 Apple TV, the first time Apple put Siri in the living room.
