Two things come to mind when I watched this video of Windows 8 booting in less than 10 seconds (2 seconds technically). At first, I am naturally skeptical (it is Windows after all) and secondly, It is about freaking time! What took so long for a major OS maker to figure out that boot times are too damn long? Apparently this magic is achieved by writing the kernel sessions to disk and putting it into a sort of hibernation mode. Whatever, bout time! Video after the break.
