In an effort to boost company revenue EA created an Online Pass Program in 2010. The idea behind the EA Online Pass was that they could make money off of the used game market by charging second-hand users to pay additional fees to unlock content.
Bad idea. Long story short, EA has finally done the right thing and is ending the program. “Many players didn’t respond to the format,” the company told GamesBeat. “None of our new EA titles will include that feature.”
