AB-ICE26 Review

Ice is pretty amazing stuff. I won't go in to the many uses of ice, but I will tell you that a portable ice maker is an awesome gadget worth investing in. In this case I was lucky enough to review the Avalon Bay Portable Ice Maker (AB-ICE26). Read on for details.

Avalon Bay AB-ICE26 Portable Ice Maker Review

First off, it is incredibly simple to use. All you have to do is plug it in and fill it with clean water. The AB-ICE26 makes lets you choose between two ice sizes and can produce the smaller size in just 6 minutes. The ice is stored in a little ice tray at the bottom of the machine. Ice will continue to be delivered to the basket until it is full. Since the machine isn't a freezer, the ice will eventually melt.  This melted ice, now water, will go back into the water reservoir for the next batch of ice.

What I like about the Avalon Bay Portable Ice Maker (AB-ICE26)

  • Ease of use.  It lets you know when it needs to fill water or empty ice.
  • Speed.  Ice cubes in just 6-12 minutes.
  • More room in the freezer for parties.
  • Two ice sizes.  The smallest size will fit in your standard water bottle.
  • Weighs just 20-lbs.
  • The price "“ just $149.95 plus free shipping.

What I didn't like about the Avalon Bay Portable Ice Maker (AB-ICE26)

Not too much.  The machine isn't exactly quiet.  It reminds me of a PC computer with the fans going at full speed.  Not the end of the world, but definitely adds white noise to its environment.
