The Kinsa Smartphone Thermometer ($24.99) does what you think it would. It connects to your smartphone, via the headphone jack, and takes temperature readings. The temperature is displayed on the smartphone screen and can be used to track temp/symptom history. The Kinsa Smartphone Thermometer can be used orally, rectally, or via the underarm.
