Renewable energy just makes sense. I mean, why not use the natural sunshine, wind, and in this case, waves to generate “free” power. Scotland’s Albatern has created a product called WaveNET that is a scalable floating array of energy harvesters. These floating wave energy generators grab energy from the motion of the waves as their arms rise/fall. Each WaveNet system can be connected to three others to make more energy. Albatern hopes to see 1.25 kilometers of floating energy farms making 100 megawatts by 2024.
