Clever. The folks at Refold, of New Zealand, have created a sitting and standing desk that is 100% recyclable, strong, and lightweight (compared to wood). They like to call it affordable but that is where I disagree. $250 for a cardboard folding desk? Ouch!
Either way the product is pretty darn cool. The Refold desk comes in 3 sizes for the stand-up version (100, 105, and 110cm) and is made of 7mm thick cardboard. There is also a standard sitting desk as well. The desk is made of four main, pieces that go together in about 2 minutes. The Refold cardboard desk can hold about 187lbs and is expected to last 1-3 years. Again, too expensive for a 1-3 year lifespan cardboard desk in my opinion. Get in line for pre-orders here.
