A Japanese company, Blest, is making gadgets that basically convert plastics to oil. They have several sizes of the machine from large-scale commercial units all the way down the the one shown here for home use. It is a bit like the Back to the future Mr. Fusion but it actually is real.
The Blest machine turns a kilogram of plastic waste into one liter of oil using just 1kWh of electricity. This is all done without releasing any CO2 from the plastics during the process.
