I am a big fan of making the home a smarter place. I have smart locks (the Nest X Yale Lock and the Yale Assure Lock SL), smart switches, smart plugs, smart sensors, etc… I prefer the Apple HomeKit enabled ecosystem as Apple is one of the rare tech companies that still cares about customers privacy.
The only downsides of these Yale smart locks is that they are bit bulky and you can’t use your existing locks/keys. Enter the Level Lock, it costs $199 and hides nicely inside the bolt lock you already own.
The Level Lock manages to pack a CR battery into the replacement deadbolt and the electronics, Bluetooth/Wifi, motor, and gears inside the center of the door. It works with HomeKit over Wifi and when shared with guests over Bluetooth. Genius. Currently available for pre-order and I hope it works as good as it looks.
