You ever lose your dog? Not like “he’s in the backyard somewhere” lose him. I mean the real kind where you’re driving around at 2 a.m. yelling his name like an idiot while the neighbors think you’ve finally lost it. My buddy’s dog once took off after a squirrel and we didn’t see him for three days. Three days! We were out there with flashlights like we were in a missing persons episode.

Well, now there’s this thing called the Fi Ultra – it’s a pet tracking collar that hooks up to Starlink satellites. Yeah, the same satellites Elon shoots up there so people in the middle of nowhere can watch Netflix. Now your dog can get tracked from space.
I read the specs and I’m just standing there thinking… this little black box on your dog’s neck is talking to satellites? My truck’s GPS still argues with me about the fastest route to the grocery store. But this thing? It switches from regular cell service to satellite automatically when your dog goes full off-grid adventurer. No more “he must be in a dead zone.” Nah, space has got him.
It’s got sound and vibration so you can call him back without yelling yourself hoarse. Waterproof, lasts a few days on a charge, works with regular collars. Costs about 200 bucks plus a subscription, but honestly, if it saves you one 3 a.m. search party where you’re tripping over roots and questioning all your life choices… worth it.
Look, dogs are gonna dog. They’re out there living their best chaotic lives. Might as well have something up there in orbit keeping an eye on ’em.
Fi Ultra. Because sometimes your best friend needs backup from actual space.
(And yes, it says “Works in Space” right on the thing. I feel like that’s overselling it a little, but I’m here for it.)
