Regular shoes walk. Shift Robotics Moonwalkers Dusk strap over those shoes and turn the sidewalk into a lightly roasted sci-fi commute. AI gait brains, a continuous LED line, real S/M/L sizing, and a $1,199 sticker – brand-direct at shiftrobotics.io/products/moonwalkers-dusk. First batch is capped at 200 pairs, with shipping listed as starting October 12 on the live shop.
What they actually are
Dusk is robotic footwear you wear over your daily kicks – canvas, sneakers, boots, even Crocs if you are living that life. ShiftOS with SENSA reads stride intent, adapts on terrain (gravel, grass, shallow puddles), and can follow a walk-to-run handoff without you babysitting an app every step. A redesigned Shift app is pitched for routes, distance, customization, and gait insight; the shop still sells the shoes as the core product.
Sized, lit, and color-coded
Three sizes map to real shoe numbers on the official page:
- Small – US Men 4-6 / Women 5-8
- Medium – US Men 6-9 / Women 8-10
- Large – US Men 9-13 / Women 10-14
Shop tip: pick the smaller band for canvas or dress shoes; go larger for sneakers, boots, or Crocs. Colors on the live PDP: Cedar, Obsidian, and Heliotrope. Straps and wheel hubs swap without tools; wheels swap in about five minutes with Allen keys.
The light wrap is not just vibe. Shop copy: green while it moves you, pink for Indoor, blue during updates, red when something needs attention – plus ground glow after dark.
Live-shop specs (size matters)
Prefer the official product page over press math when numbers fight. From the live shop:
- Large – top speed 8 mph, about 4.2 lb per shoe, rider limit 220 lb (100 kg)
- Medium – top speed 7 mph, about 3.8 lb per shoe, rider limit 175 lb (80 kg)
- Small – top speed 7 mph, about 3.5 lb per shoe on the size chart, rider limit 175 lb (80 kg)
- Range – detailed shop specs list 6.3 mi (10 km) (a same-page size chart also shows rounded 6 / 7 mi figures; we are sticking with the detailed 6.3 mi line)
- Charge – 1.5 hours, USB-C PD compatible, up to 60W each, 3.0Ah battery
- Water – IPX4 on the live shop
- Also listed: rated power 350W, max torque 8 Nm, max slope 15%, brake distance 3 ft on dry ground, Field Oriented Control
Shift also claims Dusk is nearly 40% lighter and 15% smaller than the first generation.
In the box, warranty, returns
Shop “What’s included”: Moonwalkers Dusk, carrying case, charger, and cleaning tool, plus the Shift app as companion software. Also on the PDP: free domestic shipping, one-year warranty, and a free 14-day return.
Caveats before you moonwalk your commute
This is still a powered mobility gadget, not magic sneakers. Rider weight caps differ by size. IPX4 is splash resistant, not a dunk tank. Press materials disagree with the live shop on a few headline numbers (flat 7 mph, a single 220 lb rider cap, IP54) – when that happens, treat the live shop as source and ignore the press figure. Stock is first-batch limited; re-check availability and your size/color before you emotionally schedule a glowing sidewalk parade.
Want more “shoes as gadgets” energy? Our Puma Fi self-tying shoes and Oliver Cabell Phoenix still scratch that itch. Prefer desk robots over sidewalk robots? Hugging Face Microduck.
