Pedal As Fast As Car Traffic With The Raht Racer

The electric pedal assisted bike is gaining in popularity thanks to manufacturers like BESV. And while local commuters can get around on an EPAB, they certainly won’t be driving on the highway.

Rich Kronfield, a Minneapolis inventor, wants to change that with his Raht Racer. The Raht Racer is an electric assisted velomobile that essentially amplifies the riders pedaling power.

High output pedal generator "“ pedals are connected to generator, not wheels – pedaling generates electricity that goes back into the system to extend range & recharge battery.

Heck, if you aren’t feeling up to pedaling you can rely on the throttle for electric-only rides. The Raht Racer ($35,000 – $45,000) even has seat belts and an airbag. In other words, safer than a motorcycle or bike. Hopefully their Kickstarter campaign will get some wings.
