Corkcicle Whiskey Wedge Glass

I have, and use, the whiskey balls. They work great, look cool, and don’t melt to quickly. When I saw the Corkcicle Whiskey Wedge Whiskey Glass with Silicone Ice Form I jumped for my credit card. Then I thought about it a bit more and slowly put the card back in the wallet.

Ok, to be fair the idea is clever and looks awesome when the whiskey is first poured. My concerns seemed to be confirmed by several of the online reviews. Here are some of my favorites that sum up my thoughts;

  • “What is failed to be communicated here is that within a very short time, the added alcohol separates the ice wedge from the container and it floats as any other ice cube might — fully exposed on all sides.”
  • “You can achieve the same goal by propping your glass up at a 45 degree angle while freezing the water. Plus the ice will still slide into the drink anyway. Spheres are still superior. Your welcome for saving everybody 15 dollars.”
  • “Works as advertised… for 1-2 minutes.”

Back to my whiskey with a nice ice sphere.
