The beloved Toyota Tacoma is getting a update for 2016. This isn’t a full blown 2016 Toyota Tacoma review, instead I will just list what’s new on the 2016 Toyota Tacoma. Read on if this is your type of thing. And yes, there are some “gadgets” involved here.
First off, there are 29 versions of the 2016 Toyota Tacoma ranging from 4-cylinder versions with manual transmission (starting at $24,200) to 6-cyllinder 4×4 long bed limited editions (going up to $31,768). So here is a quick list of what has changed with he 2016 Toyota Tacoma –
- The PreRunner name is gone from the 2-wheel-drive version
- The 4.0-liter V6 has been replaced by a 3.5-liter, 24-valve DOHC (278 horsepower which is an additional 42 horses)
- There is a GoPro camera windshield mount on all models
- The steel ladder frame and suspension has been fortified
- Electronic brake-force distribution and brake assist
- Front fender flares now extend into the doors
- Shorter side windows
- New front styling with trapezoidal grill
- New roof panel (for a sunroof on the double cab)
- Better sound-deadening
- New instrument panel that runs from the driver’s door past the center of the dash
- TRD Off-Road package gets a dual-range transfer case and Crawl Control (think rock crawling cruise control)
