Most travel mice make you pick a side: tiny and miserable, or full-size and bag-hostile. The OrigamiSwift refuses the choice. It is a 40g origami brick that folds flatter than a passport, then snaps into a real mouse shape in under half a second. Designer Horace Lam’s fold has been kicking around as the myAir.0 OriMouse; Yanko Design’s shop is selling this cut as OrigamiSwift for about $85.
The pitch is almost rude in its simplicity: stop packing a desktop rodent you resent and a “compact” one you hate by 2 p.m. Carry one slab. Unfold. Work. Fold it again like you are packing a secret.
The fold, the snap, the numbers
Yanko lists Bluetooth 5.2, an HD infrared sensor at 4000 CPI (up to 4000 frames per second, 30 inches per second tracking), and a 500mAh USB-C pack that the brand says lasts up to three months per charge. Unfolded it is about 4.53 x 2.83 x 1.65 inches. Flattened it is roughly 4.8 x 4.96 x 0.18 inches (sensor bump around 0.39 inches). Weight: 1.41 oz. Range claims: about 33 feet in the open, half that indoors. Compatible with Windows, macOS, iPadOS 13.4+, and Android 3.1+.
There is no scroll wheel in the old-school sense. The center strip is a touch-scroll pad, same family trick as Microsoft’s Arc Touch era. Buttons are quiet. Activation is magnetic snap-to-wake: fold it into the triangular grip and it is live in under 0.5 seconds. Fold it flat and it goes back to being a coaster with opinions.

Who this is (and is not) for
Macworld’s OriMouse hands-on is the closest cousin review: the fold is a single magnetic crease, not a fragile paper crane, and the touch strip replaces a wheel. That is the honest trade. If you live on a clicky ratchet wheel for 400-page PDFs, you will notice. If you live in airport seats, cafe tables, and “I refuse to mouse on a trackpad for two hours,” you will notice in the good way.
This is not a 26,000 CPI esports cannon. 4000 CPI is plenty for slides, docs, and light photo work. Bluetooth-only means you are betting on the laptop’s radio, not a tiny USB stick. Battery “three months” is a manufacturer claim — treat it as “you will forget to pack a cable,” not a lab certificate.
We’ve been suckers for shapeshifting rodents since the Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse arched its back for travel, and we once lost our minds over a Card Mouse that hid in a laptop slot. OrigamiSwift is that lineage with less dongle drama. The old Genius Wireless Ring Mouse tried to reinvent the grip; this one just folds the grip you already know.
Yanko stock can be thin (Black and Gray around $85; Titanium Silver often gone). If you want more colors, the myAir.0 OriMouse store is the same brain in a bigger paint rack, usually a little cheaper. Either way: one mouse for the desk and the bag, finally the same object.
